Hi everyone. I’m Rachel. A newlywed, newlyvegan, living in Atlanta with my husband, two cats, and a Great Pyrenees named River.
“Why are you a former fish taco fanatic?” you might ask. Well, back in 2009 I was a meat eater, and a little obsessed with Fish tacos. I went on a quest to find the best fish taco in Atlanta, and started this blog.
Well, in 2011, after seeing Forks Over Knives and hanging out with some pretty awesome Luminous Vegans, I started to learn more about Veganism and plant strong eating. I started cutting way back on meat and dairy, and in September 2011 I became a dietary vegan.
So now, I’m a former fish taco fanatic! And you can follow-along on my journey as I navigate through this transition and as I incorporate veganism into other areas of my life.

This is so funny–during my second stint of vegetarianism, I decided to start incorporating fish into my diet (so I suppose I was really a pescetarian) and I got on a huuuuge fish taco kick. The last fish taco I consumed before plunging into veganism was of the salmon variety. Man, was that tasty. Now I miss it!
Yea, I miss them too. We have some good fish tacos in Atlanta. But, I found some chickpea tacos that are pretty yummy, so I can still get my taco fix on!

Hi Rachel! I’ve been following a plant-based diet for a year, but even before this I never liked fish. I used to force myself to eat salmon on occasion because I thought it was good for me. Then I went to a healthy cooking class at Whole Foods Market and learned that meat, including fish, was causing disease in my body. I had no problem kicking the tuna can to the curb.
I didn’t mean to go on so long about fish, what I really wanted to say was that I’m happy I found your blog. I’m always excited to meet others on the vegan path. You’ve got a great blog here and I’m sure I’ll be back often. Celeste:)
