Mini Atlanta Blogger Meet-up: Takorea

I had the pleasure on Saturday of having lunch with Adrienne from Crack the Plates and K from Luminous Vegans. K and I already know each other since our sweeties are long time friends from elementary school. It was a pleasure meeting Adrienne! I’ve been a fan of her blog for a while, and she is another great resource for Atlanta’s vegan-friendly restaurants. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with great food and even better conversation!

We met up at Takorea in Midtown Atlanta. It was my first time there, but I first heard about the restaurant from a blog post by Abracapocus.

Takorea has a great vibe. It was a perfect lunch spot for a sunny spring Atlanta day. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the menu and they were able to identify which dishes were vegan friendly, or how they could be adapted to be vegan friendly.

We all ordered the tofu tacos, which were DELISH!

K and I split the Bibim-Bop (sans meat and fried egg). It was spicy, but also a great dish. It’s really big, so I’d definitely recommend splitting unless you are super hungry.

I would definitely go back to Takorea. They had a few other vegan friendly items that looked interesting. They also have a killer drink selection and I hear their fries are the bomb.

Check out Adrienne’s post about our lunch over at Crack the Plates too!
